The Self-Improvement Book Club

A friend invited me to start a book club where we focus on self-improvement reading and we started with Gretchen Rubin's Better Than Before. She knows that I'm a Gretchen fanatic and so of course I jumped at the opportunity to nerd out with some friends about habits.

I did't realize how much of a habits junkie I was until I started organizing people's homes. I enjoyed this book because it gave me so many ideas about how to approach my work with a fresh perspective and how to be more understanding of others' habits when it comes to what works for them and their workflows within their homes, what's intuitive to them, how to start implementing good habits to help them create a space that works for them.

Next month's pick is Greg McKeown's Essentialism. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts if you've read it (or want to read along with me). I often find myself crossing off the low-hanging fruit from my to do list (or adding things I've already done to the list just so I can see it crossed off ... apparently I'm not the only one who does this). I'm frequently rushing around, trying to get as much as possible crammed into a short period of time. I know that I'm not always accomplishing the top priorities on my list so I'm hoping this book offers some strategies around this.
