Why Spruce?

Spruce with Rachel exists because I want others to spend time doing what they love. Forget stressing and worrying about chores, spring cleaning, and overhauling the closet - we all have other things we want to be doing. But in order to get to those other things, we need to clear the clutter around us.

Think of how much time you spend every day on:

  • picking out something to wear
  • looking for a specific cooking utensil
  • hunting for holiday decorations
  • contorting into uncomfortable positions to reach to the way back under the kitchen sink
  • sorting through your personal filing (bank statements, work papers, and where did you put your passport again?)

These are just a few ways that we waste time. Now think if you had a more organized, streamlined system. I know that sounds silly when talking about the clothes hanging in your closet or where you store your cookware, but these are each their own microcosm in our homes that drive us mad when we can't find what we need.

When we have a system in place for our things, we can spend our time how we choose. I'm here to help you create more time and space for yourself.

Spruce Services

I work with people to help them unburden themselves from clutter and reclaim space within their homes. Here's how - services are broken down into three offerings:

Spruce starter - half day

Have things started piling up in your home or office but you don't know how you accumulated so much stuff? You may have started decluttering on your own yet there seems to be no end in sight.

If this sounds familiar, you are not alone! This is normal as life happens and we work so hard to meet obligations with friends, family, and work. Our living and working spaces tend to take a backseat because we can shut them out by stuffing things into a drawer or closet.

Spruce Starter is a great option to get that extra help to tackle a space over a half day:

  • We target a space in your home or a collection of things such as books, music, clothes
  • Let's edit the collection together to identify what you truly love and what is ready to be passed along for someone else to love
  • We determine what is needed to maintain the space so that everything is visible and easy to find
  • Includes haul away of small items to be donated and one hour of shopping/sourcing storage products

SPRUCE A Space - full DAY

Do you feel overwhelmed or embarrassed with the growing pile of stuff in your home? The physical clutter is distracting and you can't find what you need, when you need it.

We have all been through this! Especially during times of change - growing a family, moving households, changing jobs - other things take priority.  Time passes so quickly and we suddenly realize how much stuff has taken over the house.

With Spruce A Space, we transform the problem area(s) in your home - this includes everything in the Spruce Starter package over the course of a day.

This package is ideal for:

  • Preparing for a household move
  • Unpacking and organizing your new home
  • Right-sizing your space as your family grows, kids go off to college, roommates move in/out
  • Planning to work remotely or launch a side business out of your home office

Spruce subscription

You can have it all and there's no reason in today's society to do it all yourself, especially the tasks that go unfinished, that aren't a good use of your time, and the pesky errands that you just don't want to do.

A monthly Spruce with Rachel subscription gives you the support you need to run your household, errands, and everything in between.

Let’s talk about what how I can help and customize the subscription that's best for you!

ABOUT RACHEL

I've always been a pretty tidy and organized person but there are some things that are just so hard to get into and that's confronting the old pictures, mementos, childhood artwork, tattered books, family heirlooms - the things that make us who we are and remind us of what we were or where we've been. It takes time to sort through it all and decide what to keep and what to let go of. If I have problems doing this (and some mild anxiety around it), then what about others out there who break out in a sweat at the mere thought of going through their closet or home?

I help others work through this daunting process so that by the end, we have a created a space together where they can more comfortably live, sleep, eat, relax, or work. It's a pretty wonderful thing to use your space as it was intended.

I've been on a tidying mission since I was a child. I was the kid with a very neat room and enjoyed the beauty in having my things in order. I've spent the last ten years as a human resources professional, supporting staff and handling sensitive/confidential information. My experience helping people navigate their employment lives has helped me transition well into helping others navigate their homes to create a space they love.
